Tell the story honestly
Personalize the opening and memory/story sections with only details that help explain what happened. Avoid rewriting the story to blame the other person or justify hurtful behavior.
This cinematic apology is designed to move from reflection to a heartfelt letter and a final forgiveness question. Take responsibility in your wording and avoid making the recipient feel pressured to forgive.

In the letter, name what you regret, acknowledge the effect it had and state what you intend to do differently. Avoid using “but” to cancel the apology.
Make the forgiveness question gentle and leave room for the recipient to decide in their own time. Preview every story step and confirm the ending text matches the tone of the apology.
